Well, Hellooooo There Good Looking!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. As my About Me widget says over there -> I have owned this domain name for a long time and I just never knew exactly what I would do with it, but I loved the way it sounded. I figure once I had enough life experience where I felt I was starting to “really live” a great life, I would probably figure it out. So here it is. Yeahhhh I’m so excited.

So what can you expect from this blog?

Let me first tell you a little bit about my background. I’ll keep it short. If you want to know more just visit my About page. I was born in 1970 so as of the writing of this post that makes me 46. Holy crap. I’m almost at the halfway point. My great-grandmother and my grandmother both lived to 100 and so I figure if I take care of myself (which I try to) I’ll live till at least 1oo. As Gary V. (one of my favourite mentors) says to 50 years olds, “You’re only halfway. You still have another 50 years to go.”

I grew up in a middle-class family in a Toronto suburb. I was the first in my family to get a university degree because I was determined to make something of myself and not struggle for money. I have two college diplomas in Business/Marketing and one degree in Business with a major in Information Technology…hence why I now work in the digital marketing field.

Wow…this is already started to get too long… I’ll speed things up a little.

After graduation, I worked for 12 years in the IT field. Nine of those years for a very large, worldwide company. I had great experiences there. I traveled the world, I purchased my first house at age 30. I’ve bought & leased new cars. I’ve been married twice (never again – but don’t quote me on that) and I have a daughter who is 11.

After I had my daughter I left the corporate world and became an entrepreneur. It’s always been in my blood. When I was 28 I started my first business. It was a henna tattoo stand at the beach during the summer months. On an average weekend, I made $500-1,000 in two days. I got the bug and it’s never left me.

Since then, and after I left the corporate world, I’ve been a web designer, graphic designer, online marketer, MLM leader, cleaning business owner and more. I bought my first website in 2006 for $8,000 (paid way too much for it at the time but I had no clue), struggled in MLM (yes multi-level marketing) for 8 years before actually hitting it big for a couple years. In my best months, I made over $20,000. (Those were happy days I’ll tell ya!)

Then, I lost it all! Left my first husband and quit my MLM business all within 45 days. I lived on credit cards and some savings, for a while, but I eventually was dead broke and $40,000+ in debt. I started cleaning houses and moved into my girlfriends’ extra bedroom in order to pay the bills and feed myself and my daughter.

So I’ve had my ups and downs. There’s a lot more…but I promised I’d keep it short. Plus you’ll find out more about my adventures as I continue blogging about …well…just stuff. Stuff that I think can help other people. My experience and the knowledge that I’ve acquired.

Time to be honest…

So 50% of this blog is for me. It’s a place for me to write, express myself, share my experiences & keep myself dedicated to one thing consistently over time and to see what I can do with it. The other 50% is for you. I was listening to Tai Lopez the other day and he said that’s how we should live our lives – half for us and half for others.  I tend to think that’s a good goal to strive for considering so many people live solely for themselves.
